Where does your information come from?
We source information from official Air Force publications (AFI 36-2101, af.mil, afpc.af.mil), DFAS pay tables, and established secondary sources like military.com. All dollar figures reflect the current calendar year.
How often is the site updated?
Pay tables, BAH rates, BAS, and GI Bill figures are updated annually when new rates are published. AFSC profiles are updated when official requirements change.

What is an AFSC?
AFSC stands for Air Force Specialty Code. It is the Air Force’s system for identifying specific enlisted and officer career fields. Each AFSC has a unique alphanumeric code that maps to a specific job.
What ASVAB score do I need for the Air Force?
The Air Force requires a minimum AFQT score of 36 for enlistment with a high school diploma. Individual AFSCs have their own qualifying scores based on Air Force composite areas (MAGE, ELEC, MECH, ADMI, GEND).
What is BMT?
BMT stands for Basic Military Training. All Air Force enlisted personnel attend BMT at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, TX. It is 7.5 weeks long.
What is Tech School?
After completing BMT, airmen attend Technical Training (Tech School) for their specific AFSC. Duration and location vary by career field, ranging from a few weeks to over a year.
How do I become an Air Force officer?
The three main commissioning sources are Officer Training School (OTS) at Maxwell AFB, Air Force ROTC (AFROTC) at participating universities, and the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA). Each path has different requirements and timelines.
Does the Air Force have warrant officers?
No. The Air Force does not have a warrant officer corps. All Air Force personnel are either enlisted (E-1 through E-9) or commissioned officers (O-1 through O-10).
